eSIM installed but no internet? Check these steps first

Oct 08, 2026·GoWorldeSIM Editorial Team

An installed eSIM can still have no internet if the wrong line is selected for data or the plan has not started yet. Start by identifying what the phone is doing. An installation error, no signal and a signal with no data need different checks.

Do not delete the eSIM as a first step. Reinstallation depends on the provider, and removing a working profile can make a simple settings problem harder to resolve.

1. Is the eSIM already in the SIM list?

Open your phone’s mobile-network settings and look for the travel line. If it is there, scanning the QR code again is usually not the useful next step. If it is absent and the code is rejected, note the exact error and contact support.

Keep Wi-Fi available while you check. Our installation guide shows the menus for iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Pixel.

2. Is the travel line selected for mobile data?

A line can be enabled without being the one providing data. Check the selected mobile-data SIM and make sure it is the travel eSIM. Then verify the roaming setting on that line against the product instructions.

Keep the distinction between lines clear. Turning on home-SIM roaming is not a way to repair the travel service, and it may use your home carrier’s roaming product instead.

3. Has the plan started, and is this country covered?

Check your delivery information for activation status, any required activation action, validity and allowance. A profile stored on the phone does not prove that the service is active. Some plans need a separate action or identity check.

If you bought regional coverage, open the actual country list. A country outside that list needs another supported product; changing phone settings does not expand coverage.

4. Do you have signal, or only no internet?

If the phone has no service, try Airplane Mode on and off, restart and test in a place with a clearer signal. If the phone shows a mobile connection but pages do not load, return to the data-line, allowance and activation checks.

Use automatic network selection unless your plan supplies a specific instruction. Enter an APN only from the purchased plan’s details or support guidance. An APN found for a different travel product may not apply.

5. Has only one app stopped working?

Try a simple website and another app. If general mobile internet works but one service does not, note that distinction when asking for help. It gives support a different starting point from a complete loss of connection.

If using a VPN, compare the connection with it temporarily disconnected when appropriate. Avoid changing many settings at once: make one change, test and note the result.

What support needs to investigate

  • Your order reference or order email.
  • The phone model and current country.
  • Whether the issue is installation, no service or connected-with-no-data.
  • The exact error and screenshots of the travel line’s data and roaming settings.
  • What you have already tried and whether the service worked earlier.

Keep QR codes and activation details in the private support conversation. Do not post them publicly. Contact GoWorldeSIM support before deleting, resetting or attempting to move the profile to another phone.

If the phone reports a carrier lock

That requires the original carrier’s help. A different travel QR does not remove the restriction. Use the compatibility guide to verify the device before another purchase.

For iPhone-specific installation errors, Apple also provides official eSIM troubleshooting guidance. Keep the selected plan’s instructions beside it so you do not apply a setting intended for another service.
